  • CJ Klausner

    FOUNDER/CEO

    CJ Klausner is currently a student at the University of Notre Dame. He started CHETA in 2020 as a student at Cardinal Gibbons High School, motivated by his experiences serving the local community as a member of the Young Men’s Service League. He later officially establish CHETA as 501c3 organization in early 2022, and has expanded programs to impact both the Raleigh as well as the South Bend communities.

  • Tosheria Brown

    BOARD PRESIDENT

    Tosheria Brown serves as CHETA's board President. She has worked as the Program Coordinator for the Oak City Outreach Center since its opening in 2014 and is now the Director of Programs and Services at Oak City Cares. Tosheria has a Master’s Degree in Social Work and has dedicated her career to serving those experiencing homelessness.

    Caden Klausner

    Fundraising, Social Media, Raleigh Operations

    Caden Klausner helped to start CHETA with his older brother, CJ, when he was in middle school, leading both the social media and fundraising efforts of the organization. He became more involved with the Raleigh Market Operations when CJ went to Notre Dame for college. Caden is also very involved with The Young Men's Service League and has a specific interest in partnering with local organizations that serve families experiencing homelessness

  • Dr. Derek Hoover

    BOARD SECRETARY

    Dr. Derrick Hoover is a well-respected family physician in Raleigh who has dedicated his career to caring for the underserved. He currently serves as United Healthcare North Carolina Community and State Medical Director and is a Robert Wood Johnson Scholar. He previously was medical director of the local Healthcare for the Homeless program.

  • MJ Bettman

    BOARD TREASURER

    MJ Bettman worked as an Executive Briefing Manager for IBM for 30 years before retiring in 2007. She has been an active volunteer and continues to work as an event planner. She is very active in the local service communities.
